Kennel Assistant – Assisting with laundry, cleaning cages, washing dishes, mopping floors, etc. This position is available seven days a week from 8 am to 1 pm. Kennel Assistants also socialize with the pets in our care. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Adoption Assistant – Escorting visitors through the adoption areas, answering basic questions, facilitating animal adoptions. This position requires a 3-hour training course held at the shelter. If there are no visitors at the time, walking dogs, socializing with pets is also done. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Off-site Adoption Assistant – Helping staff set-up, care for, and assist with animal adoptions. (PetSmart in Brandon; PetCo in Lakeland; other locations as appropriate)

Special Events Assistant – Assisting annual fundraising and special events. Volunteers are needed for pre-event organizing committees, and also on the day of the event.

Foster Caregiver – Providing a temporary home for orphaned, sick, or injured animals. As a foster caregiver, if you have any pets, they must be current on all shots. If you check this box a separate questionnaire will be mailed to you.

Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinic – Assisting staff with making surgery paks, prepping animals for surgery, observing pets during recovery. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Office Assistant – Assisting administration and all areas of shelter in data entry, filing and research.

Retail Assistant – Assisting The SPCA Retail Center sorting donations, check-out, and Reception.
